At the Alexandria port exit, your private driver and guide will drive you to Cairo, which is approximately 3 hours away. Your English-speaking guide will take you to the most famous places in Cairo upon your arrival. The Great Pyramids of Giza, and the Sphinx will be the highlight of the day. The Great Pyramid of Cheops, which is the only one of the seven wonders of ancient Egypt that remains, will be your destination. It is undoubtedly one of the most well-known and important monuments in ancient Egypt. It is a masterpiece of architecture and fabricated structure. You will be amazed at the size and age of the blocks and how high they are. As you gaze at this magnificent monument, your guide will tell you all about the history of the area, including the pyramids of Chephren, Mycerinus, and answer any questions. He or she also gives you time to take photographs. The area will be open for you to photograph, including the pyramids in the Panorama area. It is possible to spend more than 2 hours in the area. This will allow you to take additional activities such as entering a pyramid or taking a camel ride (on request). Next, you will move to the Sphinx area. Here you will explore this monolith statue that symbolizes the wisdom and power of the pharaoh. The statue was carved with the head of the Egyptian pharaoh and a lion body. You will also visit the valley temple, where you can learn more about mummification in Egypt's ancient past. Lunch will be served at a local Egyptian restaurant on the way to your next stop. You will be served another delicious meal after tasting the Egyptian cuisine. The Egyptian museum in Cairo is one of the most important museums in the world. It houses some of the largest collections of Egyptian monuments. The Museum tour should take at least 2 hours. However, you won't be able to see all of it in one day. It would take several days to cover the museum completely and it is easy to get lost. A private guided tour is the best way to maximize your time and see all of the highlights. Your guide and driver will drop you at your hotel after this amazing tour that includes two of the most popular attractions in Cairo.
Alexandria, a coastal city in Egypt, is second after Cairo. Alexandria, the capital of Egypt for over a thousand years, is a unique Egyptian city. Alexandria is well-known for its rich Greek and Roman history, as well as the blend of different cultures. A day trip to Alexandria is a great way to experience the Mediterranean atmosphere and the differences it offers from other cities such as Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. Alexandria was founded in 332 B.C. by Alexander the Great of Macedonia. The city was a center of culture during the Greek era. It had the largest library in the world and one of the wonders of this world, the Lighthouse of Alexandria. The library of Alexandria closes on Saturdays and Fridays.
